Finally, two worlds I love have collided to make an awesome love-child.  Comic Nerds & Sneaker Heads rejoice, your pair of limited edition Kick-Ass low-top slip on Vans have finally arrived.  I’m feeling the green/yellow color-way (which obviously would be the only one since those are Kick-Ass’s colors).  The combo could have come out a little tacky, but I feel it combines nicely.  The shoes (as you’ve already seen) have the Kick-Ass logo posted all about it.  I love the giant “Kick-Ass” posted right above the heel, below the ankle, it really adds some character, almost saying “Everyone needs to be offended by my shoes”.  You’ll have to hit up your contacts however, since the shoes are limited to only 100 pairs.  Divided by the number of average sizes, I’m guessing there is around 15 pairs out there for any particular person.  Oh and did I mention, they aren’t being sold.  Start Scouring the deepest, darkest parts of the internet (Ebay) to find a set of these bad-ass slip ons.

*If you haven’t already picked up Kick-Ass yet I extremely suggest it.  I read a decent amount of comics, let alone literature…. this series is only in limited company at the top*

Robot’s have finally invaded our gene pool.  Look at this half human/half robot child… a.k.a a cyborg.  Knowing that she would cleverly fit at any convention, the robots designed her to look like Voltron.  Sneaky Bastards.  What’s next, hobo’s cleverly disguised as Ultra Man? The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders mixed with Johnny 5?  Be on the look out people, this Tech it Out! Tuesday is more of a warning than a bias opinion.  SkyNet Lives!!!

*As a side note, my child is totally alternating this costume with a hobo costume every Halloween*

So The Dropkick Murphy’s played a sold out show on 2/24 at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair NJ.  I would like to say that this is the second best concert I’ve been too (behind only The Format, Stone Pony).  Dropkick’s a pretty intense band via MP3, so seeing them live is an experience.  The crowd was packed, routy, and ready to mosh.  I’ve never seen so many green shirts, guy skirts, and Mohawks in one place at the same time.  The show started out in true Murphy’s fashion.  Through chant’s of “Let’s Go Murphy’s!” one began to hear the gradual emergence of bagpipes, faintly growing louder and louder.  After that is was game on.  What I liked about the show was that they played from one song right into another, with very little time for the crowd to cool off.  The ginger hooligans were loving.  About half way through the show two very interesting things occurred.  One pale skinned rough’ian was moshing a little to hard and security decided to throw him to the ground, rip his shirt and then escort him out.  No, no Mr. Security, not at a Murphy’s show.  Front man Al Barr began ripping security, stating how people come to the Murphy’s show to have fun and not enjoy a summer’s picnic.  He dropped plenty of F-Bomb in there as well.  Needless to say, the ginger was moshing again in no time.  About 30 seconds later, mid song might I add, everything stopped.  The music cut out, the lights started flashing and the crowd stared in unease.  Around 20 minutes later, the restless crowd found out that a drunk fell into the fire alarm, postponing the show until the fire dept. gave the “OK”.  Dropkick went on to tell the crowd “If you see a suspicious looking drunk, take him outside and beat his ass! And if we loose power again and can’t continue the show, let’s just riot!”.  My idea’s exactly.  The show continued, one song better than the next.  When Dropkick played “Kiss Me, I’m Shitfaced” they had tons of girls line up on stage and sing with the band.  One girl was really feeling it and another had bright pink hair, both similar only in their unattractiveness.  Oo and on a side note, Ant and I found out that a Dropkick Murphy’s show attracts the “Rough 60/40″ law, made famous in Maine.  The last song of the night will be etched into my mind forever because it involved a bald-headed, overly muscular, bright orange tank-top wearing, ginger beard owning male who loved Dropkick more than anything.  He looked exactly like Techno Viking, if that helps.  Anyway he sang his heart out on stage.  At one point, I believe he started to cry, but Dropkick will do that you. Altogether it was a great show, well worth $30.  Keep up the good work guys.  Next time you hit up Jersey I can guarantee you I’ll be there in a bright green hoodie with some Celtic paraphernalia.

GWNIDCTR: “Oh not too much, like around 10 lbs over the next week, but it’ll be easy because it’s all water weight”

OGWNIDCTR: “Yeah, that’s not bad since it’s all water weight, you’ll loose that in no time”

The conversation continued, however my attention span didn’t.  I began to disect what I just heard and as I went deeper and deeper I became more confused.  Is it possible to loose 10lbs of water from the human body in a week?  This would infer that this sophmore girl was carrying around either 10 liquid pounds of water in her body OR she was planning to sweat out 10 pounds of water her body had absorbed.  Is this possible? I’m no science major so correct me if I’m wrong, but that just seems like a lot of weight, far more than the human body should find expandable at any given moment.  I’ve always wanted to find this girl and ask her if she did it.  If she was able to loose 10 lbs of water by, yes this was her plan, only drinking water.  Yup.  That’s how this ones going to end.  Sometimes you just hear things that can’t be unheard…and this hasn’t been unheard for the last eight years.

Jeez, I’m Italian-American, and I’m sick of you fucking guineas who think they’re still from the old country when they likely have never even left the east coast, much less the US…and certainly never having stepped foot in Italy!”

Ok so let’s break it down, you know for the hell of it.  So Orisha’s first few sentences attack the idea that I’m not “only” Italian. I described myself as Italian, for those of you who don’t know (Orisha), in regards to my ethnicity.  Ethnicity, defined by the internet source of all knowledge, commonly refers to people of the same race that share a distinct culture.  American, in the sense both you and I are using it, refer’s to my nationality.  Let me know if this is going over your head at all and I’ll slow down. Nationality is defined as a membership acquired by being born within the jurisdiction of a certain country.  Now I’m not the brightest kid on the block, but two words with separate definitions can’t possibly mean the same thing right? Hmmmm.  From what I can see, describing myself as an 100% Italian was correct, since the only true “ethnic” american’s are Native American’s, you know American Indians.  I’m sure you remember something from 5th grade social studies right? Ok so let’s draw some conclusions, don’t be upset if your stumped, I know all these “crazy” words can get confusing. You claimed to be 100% Italian-American.  Since you live in America, you clearly refered to both words in the ethnic sense, becuase assuiming otherwise would contradict your assumption that you can only be ethnicly Italian if you live within the boarders of the country.  This would make you both 100% Italian and 100% Native American?  Hmmm 200% full blooded Italian-American, huh.  I wish I was that awesome, but I guess I’d need a cooler internet handle, like yours.  Anyway, yes I am Italian-American and I’m proud of it.  However, calling my ethnic background anything but Italian is incorrect.  I’m Italian by blood and American by country.  Since you were clearly mistaken, and somewhat made a fool through your own actions, I’ll simply leave you with this.  A.) I’ve been to “the old country”; Naples, Rome, Venice, Florence, to name a few of the more known spots.  B.) I’ve left the east coast, even the US in fact!  I’ve visited Spain, France, Monaco, numerous countries in the Caribbean, and even Croatia. C.) Not once did I claim to be from Italy or pass off the idea that I’m a “guido” in anyway, I just choose to defend their way of life. And D.) unfortunately, you are once again mistaken, it’s “fucking guinea’s” like yourself who give the rest of us a bad name.  You are so afraid of fake tan having, fist pumping Guido’s giving your ethnicity a bad rap that you fail to make sound arguments in defense of your opinion as to why you are different in the first place.  Your an idiot.  It’s as simple as that.  However, I’d like to thank you for your, all be it elementary, comment since it’s open forum’s like these where idiotic opinions, like your’s, can be heard.  I look forward to hearing your rebutle, and this time, please, let’s try to make an argument that will pass off the idea that you at least attempted to use some form of logical thought in its creation.
